Meet the new girls

Recommended Posts

Ill definitely have a look at that thread Em. The thought of showing is quite nerve wracking I must admit...but I made it my New Years Resolution to enter at least one show this year. Didn't mention at the time to the OH that it meant new 'show girls'.

Thanks Daphne. No he didn't notice for about 2 days. Mind you as soon as he comes home he goes up to his garage to make sure 'his girls' are ok, and no one has touched them in his absence. :D The only reason I got a WIR was because he wanted to upgrade one of his girls and felt guilty about spending that amount of money. So I got to have something as well :clap:

The fireplace is lovely. The house is 16th century but not sure how old the bricks are, some of them are handmade, so must be quite old

Did you see the Victorian farm episode when they made bricks - I found it fascinating (did I just write that  ) Your house is older than ours which is mid 19th century, but ours was built as an estate workers cottage and I know the bricks for it were made on the estate, and given we live very near charcoal burner's woods I love the fact its all local.

Back to showing - good luck with all your plans both of you!

Sad as this is to say....you can quite often find me bathing a chicken in the utility room sink

The girls love it especially the hair drying at the end. My hubby already thinks I'm mad as he quite often comes home to me giving my standard poodles a haircut or washing a chicken's bum :D

Daphne...I didn't see that episode but loved Victorian Farm. We've uncovered 2 other fireplaces in the house as well with the same type brick. They were boarded over with a false mdf surround and electric fire installed instead. We also uncovered a lovely tiled floor in the hallway.

You can just see what we uncovered when we pulled up the lino. Ignore Wiggy, he tends to go all Alexander the Meerkat when he has his photo taken :lol:

WOW - what a lovely hallway; it must be so satisfying to uncover the hidden treasures, from different periods as well I would think. Gorgeous hall! Gorgeous Wiggy :D

Regarding the washing - isn't it strange how washing birds is more satisfying than washing clothes, and cleaning hen houses more satisfying than cleaning human houses!
