grracee
I have two barnebars which i got from the Wernlas over a year ago now and i have been wondering this for a while, can you have different patterned/coloured barnebars? Might sound a really stupid question When they were chicks they looked exactly the same.... (the two at the back) Now as hens.... Brownie Gertie As i've seen a couple of people on here have barnebars and they all look the same as my Gertie. Hmm.....
Redwing
I've got one like Brownie that is supposed to be a Wernlas Olive, she doesnt lay olive eggs though, she doesnt look like the other Barnebars I have seen either so I am not sure now either! there are a few colour variations in the 'bar' birds so maybe she is a Barnebar I have now seen more than a couple of posts where people have bought one thing from Wernlas only to suspect or discover its something else... They do breed many thousands of chicks a year so I guess mistakes can happen
Space Chick
I would say that Brownie looks more like a Gold Legbar or an Olive, Gertie looks just like my Peri who is a Barnebar, but who lays standard brown eggs not dark brown
Redwing
She isnt a gold legbar, wrong colour and comb but you may be right with the Olive, maybe mine is a brown egg laying throwback then
grracee
Thanks Brownie lays very nice light brown eggs and gertie lays a slightly bigger size darker brown egg although Brownie has now come back into lay after 1st moult and is laying a bigger egg so i'm waiting to see what Gerties are like. When I brought them Shaun @ Wernlas was very certain he has given me a CLB & 2 barnebars, as I was a chicken novice I didn't really know my chicken breeds then so I was none the wiser. Does anyone have any pics of a Wernlas Olive I can compare her too please?? Really confused here now, haha!!

grracee
Thanks for the pic, I've been looking at some other pictures of some Barnebars from The Wernlas on other websites and have seen some pictures that look like Brownie, so perhaps you can just get them in different colours
