Patricia W
Don't worry - it will happen. The days are getting longer which helps. Pure breeds are often later than hybrids to start laying. I'be got some older than yours which haven't started yet. Tricia

iandjsmum
There's lodas of us on here at the moment worrying that we're going mad waiting for pekins to lay! Mine are nearly a year old and still no eggs! For the first time ever one of them has started to squat in the last day or two but still no eggs........ It does seem like a bit of a bad joke at times! abwsco
One of the girls I hatched in the summer has only just started laying at a day under 32 weeks. The other one has yet to lay and shows no signs either
ChrisEllis
I feel worse!! I have had my silkies which i think are hybrid with something else and they haven't started laying yet. We thought the hens were squatting but they only sone it once or twice and haven;t done it since and only done it when they was in the sun PLUS we have 8 month old ducks that are mating already and STILL not laying. I wouldnt worry too much.
chickenNutter
My three pure breds were all 34 weeks plus before they started laying (in the coldest spell for 30 years with the shortest daylight hours - what's that all about?!) chickenNutter
I tell my husband (who thinks that the chickens are a ridiculous and expensive luxury) that they are pets first and foremost and that the eggs are just an added extra!
