CannyCat
I caught an episode of Bill Granger's coockery programme on Saturday and was totally bowled over. His food is so simple - the kind of food you'd actually cook and eat, you know?! And he was so honest - I've never heard a TV chef say, "and some days I just can't be bothered to cook"! I loved the sound of every single recipe he cooked - very rare - so I've put his book on my birthday list but in the meantime I cooked up the Chicken, Tomato And Fennel Casserole, which he cooked on the show. It was delicious! Best casserole I've ever had. Great with pasta You can find it online, here: http://www.hub-uk.com/foodpages40/recipe1951.htm Catherine
Sheilaz
Sounds good. Interesting chef, I hadn't heard of him before. To think he started out serving scrambled eggs.
xraylady
made this yesterday, delish!! The grocers were out of fennel -so I substituted celeriac (another veg I had never tried also) - was feeling adventurous & added more crushed fennel seeds. Very good served it over 'bow tie' pasta - everyone liked it Thanks for the tip, Catherine.
Louise
I had it at the weekend but left out the fresh fennel (don't like it) and added more onion instead it was very tasty I served it over rice which soaked up loads of sauce I have some sauce left in a tub and I am not sure what to do with it I did think about using it as a pasta sauce with a little parmesan

Oooo that sounds nice! We had our leftover sauce with pasta - I'm sure you could freeze it too, for future occasions
