lizbeth
I have had my 2 girls for about 9 months now and have only ever had 1 softie - after one of them had laid a gigantic double yolker! Over the past couple of weeks one of them has laid about 4 softies - we have had the occasional 'proper' egg as well. They have access to grit at all times and she generally seems to be well and is still eating as far as I can tell. I was just wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this - should I worm them just to make sure or could this not be causing the problem? Thanks in advance x
Sarahsausage
I'm having the same problems with one of mine, she's been laying softies for a while now despite having access to grit and additional limestone flour in her food, I think she's just getting old as she's an ex-batt, don't think there's anything you can do about it really
Egluntyne
I would worm her if it hasn't been done for a while. I'd add a bit of cod liver oil to her pellets. The vit D3 will assist with calcium absorption.
jimnpaula
I've found that someone kept laying softies when on a food that mum got them for Christmas. When I changed back to my favorite brand I'm now getting a full house most days again. P
