grracee Posted March 21, 2010 Share Posted March 21, 2010 Well... after a looong while looking for the eggs that I wanted, I've finally found and brought some lavender orpington eggs and waiting to win some gold laced orpingtons i've bidded on on ebay! Hopefully will be getting eggs on wednesday so set them on thursday, have to set the incubator up start of this week & make sure everythings working fine! grracee Posted April 1, 2010 Share Posted April 1, 2010 The eggs have been in for 6 days now so i candled them this morning. Can't remember how many are fertile but there is some! I guess I should have jotted it down... good thing though i have a mixture of some lav and gold laced fertile so thats good. Havent done the getting eggs through the post before so im pretty pleased. Last time I hatched i didnt really have a great candler so this time i was pretty amazed at what you can see at such an early stage! Think I had at least 7/12 but maybe more, so i'm happy with that. grracee Posted April 10, 2010 Share Posted April 10, 2010 Well it's day 15 today so i've candled and removed all the infertile eggs, there was 7/12 So i have 5 eggs with chicks in ready to hatch next friday. 3 x Lavender and 2 x Gold Laced. Bit disappointed with only 5/12 being fertile but i suppose thats the risk you take ordering eggs to come through the post. But i'm happy with 5, better than none at all! Set the brooder up this afternoon, got the rabbit indoor cage off for nothing off freecycle! Heres the eggs that are left out of twelve.
