Not receiving topic notifications

Recommended Posts

I have a feeling that I don't always get notified but can never be sure.

Last night Cookiemonster posted to the "No respect for the Law !" thread at 11:43pm (way past my bedtime). The thread is showng "New Posts" this morning but no e-mail thus far.

I assumed I hadn't ticked the subscribe box but its showing me as subscribed.

I'm not really that worried about it - was more concerned it was forgetfulness by me

ps Not in the spam

pps someone might reply to this and I'll just never know :o

We aren't aware of any problems with e-mail notifications at the moment, but large e-mail providers such as AOL, Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail have very aggressive spam filters that tend to intercept forum notification e-mails, often in an unpredictable way.

We can send five messages and two will get through fine, two will be put in the spam folder and one will never be delivered at all. It's frustrating, but as it's done at their end, there's very little we can do about it - as Claret says, the most important thing is to make sure that omlet.co.uk and club.omlet.co.uk are in your 'white' or 'allow' list for spam filtering.

My barbara@omlet.co.uk email address is the one used by the forum to send out automatically generated emails for PMs etc. As a result, I get a lot of forum members email notifications returned to me by the Postmaster because the email address is incorrect so if you're not receiving any, it might be worth checking that your profile details are correct :D .

Matt has hit the nail on the head - it is very random at times. I can go for days without getting any notifications, then loads pour through. At one stage I received multiple emails regarding the same post  luckily they fixed that.

Best to rely on the little red stars or the 'view new posts' facility.
