A question for you carpenters and Master Run Builders. I am still looking at WIR's and want to know what are pro's and cons of the wood different traders use.

 

So A4U uses pressure treated timber, CMS tanalised and others kiln dried. Does it matter? will they all last as long and be easy to care for?

Hi, I've used kiln dried and treated it myself with cuprinol. This might be the cheapest for a home built run, but not the best. I reckon tanalised or pressure treated is the best.

I'd used Tanalised timber as it won't need treating with wood preserve and tends to last longer.

pressure treated timber, tanalised are the same. tanalised is basically a trade name based around the chemical that was first used for pressure treating wood
