Smiler33
After hearing all the good things about Aubiose on here and having used some for my horse (long ago now!), I bought a bale today. I've put some in the nest box - is it just a case of picking out the poo every day and then say once a week picking out any wet bits and leave it alone, or do you take the whole lot out, clean with disinfectant spray or whatever and put back in and top up as required? Also, if I put it into our covered standard Cube run, how much do you put down? Many thanks
Redwing
I take out poo every now and again then when I clean out the poo tray I refill it with the nest box Aubiose then clean and top up the nest box (but then I am legendary with my mean-ness ) in the run its best to use a thin layer and replace it more often, about an inch or so should do, you'll need boards or lawn edging or similar to keep the bedding in the run

Plum
It's the pooey bits from the nestbox I put in the cube tray. No point recycling good stuff. I haven't cleaned the nestbox out for weeks but it stays clean and there is no sign of mites in the cube. I do sling some diatom in occasionally. In the run with an extension I use less than 1/2 bale and its couple of inches but they move it to one area anyway and I just have to keep raking it back. Tutti Frutti
they move it to one area anyway and I just have to keep raking it back. I must be lucky! Mine are the exact opposite. I poo-pick in the evening when they've gone to bed, s"Ooops, word censored!"ing it into one big pile as I go... Then the next morning, they start raking it all back - gives them something to do during the day
Smiler33
Many thanks for all your advice! The nest box looked a lot tidier this morning than it normally does - and that's with all 4 of them piled in together in there
