Mandy
I'd only had my chickens for 3 weeks and 2 days when on Sunday I found a big (75g) egg! It was a double yolker! My two Omlet hens have been brilliant and I'm so pleased with them - both are happy and laying and I usually get two eggs per day. On Saturday I didn't get any eggs but on Sunday I got the double yolker! Does it tend to happen that if they don't lay one day, they do a double the next? Also, I've seen pictures on this forum of some huge eggs - has anyone had more than two yolks in one egg?
Chucky Mama
We had lots when our girls were new to laying, we even had one triple. Sadly we don't get them any more.
Space Chick
Same here, double yolkers were common with my White Star when she came into lay but I haven't had one for a long time.

Purplemaniacs
Double yolkers are special, we only had a couple when they started laying. Chrissie
Forge Cottage
Had a double yolker in our dinner last week. Gertie laid a lighter egg, then a no-egg day, then a whopper... Clever girl but it must have made her eyes water!
