What is this weird behaviour?

Recommended Posts

My white cochin tries to get underneath my black cochin. She goes from the front and rams her head underneath and snuggles down? Now I thought it may be cuddling up for the night, but she was doing this mid afternoon too. They also do a lovely little thing where they seem to rub each others heads and necks over each others neck and wing.

It's very cute, but none of my other chickens have done anything like this before so I don't know whether the behaviour points to a problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks

My two Cochins do this. I think it's friendly behaviour combined with a bit of excitement. :D But as there is a big size/age difference it could be that the larger one is acting as mummy/protecting.

Mine often run towards each other quite fast, then stand in face to face and rub heads. They have been brought up together so almost like sisterly love!
