riven
my 2 2 year olds are very scrawny - still laying well, but feel very thin compared to the 3 pullets I got a month or so ago. They get plenty to eat - layers pellets, greens, all table and kitchen s"Ooops, word censored!"s, mealworms etc and seem energetic and happy. But feel so thin. patsylabrador
I have 3 Light sussex bantams, sisters. One is big and heavy, one is middling and the third is small and thin. I watch them carefully in the morning to make sure they all eat and the little one eats all day, so I guess they just vary like us.
sjp
if they are hybrids they are bred to lay eggs so don't put a lot of meat on or they might need to be wormed
chelsea
My smallest girl Willow is thin and scrawny. She lays regularly, is wormed regularly and is bright as a button. So I wouldn't worry too much about your girls if they appear healthy and well.
Egluntyne
Some of my hybrids feel very scraggy, but are laying well and are otherwise healthy. I would worm them, to rule out internal parasites, but tbh, it is very common for hybrids to be thin.
riven
pk thanks. Will worm them just in case.
Chucky Mama
If you worm them with flubenvet and they are eating well and otherwise healthy I wouldn't worry too much. I have only 1 very greedy chicken out of 4 that has any meat on her. The others are very lean but do lay well and always beat her in a race for the mealworms
