LuckyChickenLover-
Can chickens see in colour? The only reason I ask is because my chick Prescilla always frefers to be near people with brightly coloured shirts, particularly pink and purple. I think I also remember reading somewhere on the Omlet site that hens in a pink eglu lay more and lay heavier eggs than hens in other colour eglus. (Just searched for the page Here it is for anyone who wants a look.) Thanks ~ Lucky Chicken Lover
karlotta
It's funny you should mention this... I have 2 eglus, 1 pink and 1 purple in a free range area for my bantam girls. The pink eglu always had the big majority of the eggs (sometimes none in the purple). A couple of weeks ago I swapped the tops of my eglus over. It wasn't intentional, I had put the poo trays back in the wrong ones and when I went to put the tops on I didn't notice they were swapped. Since then they have switched their preference to the other eglu (which now has a pink top and tray (purple door).
