Olly
For anyone who hasn't come across it, Ukadex is the most foul-smelling stuff imaginable - it not only stops hens pecking each other, it will also stop your nearest and dearest from coming near you for weeks after you've used it! I've got a peanut feeder hanging from a bracket on the fence, and I've been driven mad by the sight of my local cheeky squirrel doing acrobatics from the fence, and scoffing peanuts whilst thumbing his/her nose at me. Now, I have no time at all for squirrels - rats with fluffy tails and good PR, in my view! - but I wouldn't want to hurt one, however it makes me very cross to see it eating the food intended for the local bird-life. I had a brainwave the other day though, as I was returning the Ukadex to the shed ... I sprayed the fence around the bird feeder. I'm pleased to report that the bluetits are still feeding, but I haven't seen the squirrel since then! (I'm not sure what my neighbours think about the strange smell in the garden. )

Egluntyne
I'm not sure what my neighbours think about the strange smell in the garden. They probably think you have taken up smoking a pipe. Good tip Olly. We have a bold family of squirrels who raid the bird feeders. I'll give this a try.

Ain't Nobody Here
My girls love squirrels . First thing they do when they're let out is rush en masse to underneath the peanut feeder to scoff all the bits the squirrel has dropped .
The Dogmother
You can borrow Ruby if you like - all the squirrels in the park run away when they see her!
