BERTIE MCSQUIRTY
this morning, my neighbour across the road spotted a fox in her garden. the fox was trying to dig into something, so she let the dogs out and the fox fled leaving a rather large egg of a swan. now the egg was perfect, and unfortunately by the time i found out about it this evening, the egg was stone cold. but just a thought, would it have been worth the effort of putting this in an incubator should i have been around this morning? what would you do? Redwing
I'd probably leave it The fact that its been cold so many hours wouldnt do it any good but apart from that I dont think it would be a good idea to try to hatch and raise a lone swan, the incubation requirements may well be different for a swan It would have been a very tricky undertaking I'd say!! Egluntyne
I agree, What would you do with the cygnet, if it were to hatch? I guess it would need very specific care.
Chucky Mama
I personally would leave it and put it down to nature but you could contact a Swan rescue or sanctuary for advise as there are few of them around the country.
Madchook
Don't all Swans belong to the Queen? It would probably be illegal?
Cooks
Don't all Swans belong to the Queen? It would probably be illegal? I was just about to type the same thing.
