what colour cube/eglu do you have?

Recommended Posts

looks like i might have to change from (cube orange) to (cube green) as husband not wanting a bright colour in the garden and wants (cube green) to blend in :boohoo::(

to be honest the cube is brilliant so even if you do have the change colour the colour is immaterial :D green is great and does blend brilliantly IMO

I started off with a previously loved (green eglu) for my first girls (Bluebelle)(white chicken)GNR ..I then added a PL (blue eglu) which used to live a few miles along the road for my batties.........soon after that I "adopted" a (cube lilac) with 4 Orpington in situ............then a recon (cube orange) arrived so the batties & the originals could all move in together (they didn't BTW, the originals went for a sleepover with the Orpies & never moved out  so did 2 of the batties after a while  ) at this point DH felt the Omlet invasion was too great & I rehomed my (green eglu) to a friend & his 2 Golden Partridge Pekins :D . Some time later I saw a (cube red) many miles away (West Sussex to Darlington  ) but was a very good price & gave us the impetus to visit old friends we hadn't seen in yonks, so not such a horror :D:whistle: ........I've just realised I've missed out the PL (pink eglu) which arrived shortly before the (cube red) ...................erm I think I may have a small addiction problem as I'd dearly love another (green eglu) again and maybe even a (purple eglu) or a (cube purple) one day too

As you can see a rainbow garden is my aim nowadays....nothing lives in it long enough to flower, so it's the only way to add colour these days

I have (purple eglu)(cube purple) as I didn't want green (too boring). Dh didnt want pink or orange. Lilac wasn't around then. I am not a red or blue person person at all. I would love a brown but that happened pre and post me buying mine. If I was buying again now dh is broken into the idea I might try for an orange one

 I usually get "you are mad  " as a response, I prefer yours :D

I'm about to go out & get the (pink eglu) ready to put Missy Stroppy Pants Blossom in so she can get over her pancake impression & leave the (cube red) nestbox to the other Pekins who are terrified of her bad temper :anxious: ....and make a phonecall to acquire some "babies to be" for her  DH will not be very impressed

We got a purple (purple eglu) because it was DDs favourite. DS1 wanted green - too boring for me so I ignored that, DS2 couldn't decide and I didn't consult OH in case he remembered he had agreed to this (I don't think he believed I would go ahead).

We then got a pink (cube pink) second hand which looks absolutley perfect beside (purple eglu) .

The chooks prefer whichever house they are not assigned to  I'm sure they think I give the best food to the others

I've just had a lovely purple cube. It is luxury compared to our very old wooden coop. Hens have adapted so well. I had to show them how to use the glug but everything else has been straight forward. Also, it is so easy to clean. It isn't rat proof though - the wire mesh needs to be smaller. I will have to cover mine with a much smaller wire meshing. (cube purple)

I just got a (purple eglu) delivered this morning. I actually missed the delivery while walking my son around the corner to playschool and had to ring the head office in a panic as I had been assured the delivery guy would ring in advance. Luckily he was still in the estate and they sent him back :D

The boxes are huge. I had 5 kids from 3yrs to 7yrs playing in the big eglu box until they collapse it

I have a (cube purple) and I love it. When we finally decided to go ahead with getting a cube I was prepared to go with a (cube red) as a compromise but OH let me get my favourite colour, bless him! I'm with the thinking that you have a huge placstic box in your garden why try to disguise it ?!

Today DD and I bought lots of lovely purple plants to put in the purple pots around the base of the cube. Lovely, lots of purple. What a happy colour. :D

We have a yellow eglu (yellow eglu) !

untitled.JPG

They don't make them anymore - but I notice they make the Eglu Go in yellow. They stopped making the yellow Eglu classic in yellow as some people said they had problems with flies - but we never had that issue in the town or the country houses we have had it in.

So pleased we got a yellow one when you could... just ordered a green cube, which should go ok together. :)
