whats the difference between van and courier delivery?

Recommended Posts

A van is the special Omlet van and a courier is when omlet hire someone (in my case ParcelForce) to deliver your items.

If they're both the same price I'd personally go for the van because if you're buying an eglu it will come already made up. Also, I think that a van is less likely to mess the delivery up, and you'l be able to ask whoever delivers it any questions.

Hope that helped :D

As far as I am aware, the Omlet van only delivers if you are ordering chickens. Otherwise, it will be sent by courier.

I'm pretty sure you can have a van without chickens. I was going to have a van (I didn't buy chickens from Omlet btw) but the only reason it had to be changed to a courier was because the van couldn't deliver on a day I was available.

Personally I would say courier is quicker, but you have to build it yourself and seems to be less reliable i.e. sometimes coming a day early, bits missing/damaged. Where as the Omlet van only delivers in a specific area of the country, you get a fixed day/time and they come and build it & tend to have a few spare bits, etc with them in the van so can sort out problems easily for you - so by the time they leave you are ready to go.

Personally I have always had problems with the couriers (Omlet good at resolving these) and did request Omlet van for my cube. I think the cube is harder than an Eglu to build and to adjust perfectly - I have happily built the eglu's with no issue.
