the kids asked for poached eggs for breakfast so i crack 4 eggs in to the poacher

 

the first one was a double yolker so the kids started fighting over who was getting it ,i then cracked the 2nd and it was also a double and the 3rd and 4th i couldnt believe it as i was cracking them the kids were getting more and more excited each one i cracked

 

and look what we got

 

i know im sad but i must admit i was just as excited as the kids about it lol

I've never had a double yolker.

mine are all from my bluebelle ,she lays quite big eggs and they all look a bit long ,and so far all of them have been doubles

I always wondered why no one bred chickens to produce multiple yolks in every egg - would be great for custard makers

i looked in to it and found out that its no doable as the double yolkers dont hatch so they would die out strait away
