I'd go + get it from Cotswold Chickens - its closer + more variety of chickens

 

Not sure they will do a discount on such a small number of hens though

well cotswold chickens wont do a deal on their chickens even if i buy a cube from them so i think im going to wait and have omlet bring the cube and chickens to me and set it up.

 

it'll give me time to get food, grit etc and sort the garden.

 

fingers crossed it'll come sooner but im going to wait it out if need be

after getting our girls and Cube i dont think i could EVER wait 5 WEEKS!!!!! but i guess your right in waiting and getting all the feed,grit and garden sorted!

 

Our friends are building their own Run and have to wait to get the hens untill they have the time and it's ready! when we were building our cube it wasw relatively straight forward apart from a few teething problems like not enough screws from the seller of the cube etc so had to go and get some and do a bit of DIY intuition lol!!!

Spoke to Omlet about delivery dates and as long as you don't mind it being delivered by courier, they send it within 2 weeks, which is a bit better... just have to make it yourself...

only prob with that is they wont send the chickens by courier, so i would be chookless

I've had to wait 6 weeks (chickens and classic coming this Thursday) and it has been a long wait but it has given me time to have a WIR built, prepare the garden, go on an Omlet course and buy all the medicines etc needed. Plus I have added things to my Omlet order e.g. netting and bokashi bran in the meantime. I think I have become a chicken. I fall asleep each night thinking all things chickeny.

We source our chickens more locally, not due to air miles, rather that we wanted more choice than just the two types omlet offer.

 

Hope you get yours soon. Once mine arrives and I build it, I shall post some pictures.
