ok so ive ordered my cube and chickens but.... UPDATED

Recommended Posts

they are going to take 5 weeks to arrive :boohoo:

(ps had to have a green (cube green) in the end not an orange (cube orange) (which i love) due to husband)

now, i could have it quicker without hens or i can go pick the whole lot up (1hr30mins each way) but i would have to put it all together on my own :(

hang tight for 5 weeks or go collect next week?

Nahh, Im sorry to put the cat amongst the pidgeons but I would definately go pick it up. I coulnt possibly wait 5 weeks! 5 weeks?

We put ours together ourselves and it really isnt that bad at all. If you allow yourself an hour and a half for assembly, but it wont take that long in reality. The instructions are very clear and precise.

Plus, if your getting your own chickens you will have more choice :D

Plus, ( ) what you save in delivery charges = another chicken

And you can't have too many chickens!

With my hen house I was asked to wait just one more weekend and I couldn't do it. I drove to the couriers depot and shoved it in my car - this was about 9pm after I'd put the children to bed.

The transport company thought I was mad but I just couldn't wait anymore.

So like I said earlier - it is best to wait, but I couldn't wait.:lol::lol:

I would wait for omlet I think, like others have said omlet will assemble it for you, if there are any problems when doing this they will sort it for you. :)

Another thought is I bet they are not in your area before then, as its obviously in stock, I would tell them that should that shange you are requesting an earlier delivery. you never know they might find themselves there before they thought they would... now am I making sense?

Oooh exciting...a cube ordered!! but I would never be able to wait 5 weeks. As CW said FIVE WEEKS!!!???

I had my cube delivered by courier but I put it together myself (with the help of an electric screwdriver) I am a 28yr old shorty lady person who is fairly practical but as a general rule don't embark on DIY without a sensible adult present (and no forum friends, my dear OH does not fall into that catogory  ).

If you search hard enough there is a thread showing my build of Gordon :)

I would be camping out at Omlet HQ waiting for them to open

My top tips for building the cube are: make sure your electric screwdriver is charged, build it on flat ground and have a nice drinky poos ready for when you complete it....or for the duration

ha ha  yes my decision making skills arent that good!! so this is what ive been thinking .....

i'll go and get it and do it all by myself BUT i'll have to take my 2yr old daughter with me for the journey and the putting it together :anxious: also the chickens will have to stay in their travel containers until its all put together :?

or same as above but only get 4 chickens from omlet and get 2 different ones on way home from Cotswold Chickens

or i noticed that Cotswold Chickens sell cubes so i could get everything from them instead and save my self 40mins in the car but their chickens are £5 more expensive each which adds up to quite alot unless they do the same thing as omlet and charge less per chicken when buying a cube

hummmmmm

Shocked by this - ordered my cube yesterday and waiting to hear back on when it might get delivered... sounds like it will be a long while :( . Not sure I could wait for 5 weeks...

I want the (cube green) now... I would probably drive to get it too if it meant waiting that long... will someone call me to let me know when it will be delivered? It was 5 years ago we bought our Eglu and can't remember the process!! :)

Thanks for the confidence to try to build it ourselves!!!

Im glad you've decided to pick it up, you couldnt possibly wait 5 weeks, well i couldnt anyway  .

As for the chickens, why not give Cotswold chickens a ring and see if they will do a deal with you getting a cube from them my guess is they probably will do.

Thanks for letting us know, now let us know what you decide to do again
