Fox again - in broad daylight.

Recommended Posts

We were all eating dinner in the dining room. Dh had finished and got up to leave - this usually winds me right up. I like all to remain seated until we've all finished. Anyway, he starts running the tap to wash up then screams (a little like a girl) "omg there's a fox in the garden"

She had come in over a 6' fence, cleared the builders fencing and was straight in with the free ranging girls. Dh was quick and was right behind her and chased her out of the garden. It was all so quick that only two of the girls seemed to realise what was happening. All are now under lock down - but definately no more free ranging unless I'm watching constantly.

The fox has tried several at several times during the course of the night, but daytime is a whole new thing now!

It was scary. The kids were screaming, thinking that the chickens were going to get killed, I went running out in my socks and got poo all over my feet.

We're just on the phone now to get father in law over at the weekend to shoot it. No way is it going to get my girls.

My neighbours think that foxes dig up their lawn because they are frustrated that they can't get to MY chickens. What a load of ...........Foxes surely eat pet rabbits and guinea-pigs too ( which they have) and as you've proved they'll climb anything.

Good luck with the destruction of the fox :clap:

If your neighbours lawn is being dug up, it's more likely that they've used something like bonemeal fertiliser that the fox can smell?

A word of warning - the average time before a new fox moves into a vacated territory is around six weeks. Disposing of this fox may seem to solve the problem, but another fox is likely to appear - you just won't know when. Also please bear in mind that if this is a vixen, she may have cubs dependent on her at this time of year.
