My columbine laid the pale brown egg today? The only other hen with her is the speckeldy and I expected a darker speckled egg!

I feel gutted! My columbine lays an ordinary brown egg just the same as my Sussex girls.

 

80% blue/green 20% cream or pastel coloured they say. Is brown a pastel colour? I feel mis-sold. The breeder has offered to exchange her but I would feel to bad about this and it would upset the pecking order. Also she is in school at the moment and its would be difficult to explain to the children.
