Puzzled about dairy food and non dairy

Recommended Posts

Ours have yoghurt if we have had a few runny poos, or if they are looking a bit listless, or if I have any in date in the fridge and they are at the back door talking to me.

They have a couple of spoonfuls on a plate/bowl, they eat it for a while and then they wander off, flicking it everywhere, backdoor, patio, rosemary bush, rose bush, garden bench etc... :)

It's not recommended that chickens are fed regularly on dairy, but the odd bit - e.g. left-over cornflakes with milk on - doesn't seem to do any harm, and probiotic yoghurt is used by a lot of people for chooks that have had upset tummies or been on antibiotics or similar.

I don't think baked beans as such would be a problem, but bear in mind that they have quite a bit of sugar and salt in - all things in moderation, a few probably won't do any harm.
