Griffin
When did your Polands start to lay? Olive celebrates her first birthday on Sunday and she still hasn't laid any eggs, there's no redness to her face at all, I know that as she's bearded it's hard to tell but there's definitely no change. Doris is nearly nine months old and we've had no eggs from her either although she has been quite vocal these past few days so I'm hoping that's a sign! Patricia W
In my experience, ( 7 Polands) they are on the late side. One of my first pair started laying at about 7 months, her sister at about 10 months. Of the others, the average seems to be about 9 months but one was definitely a year. However, once they start they do lay a decent size egg every day from Feb to end of October. Keep the faith! Tricia
Redwing
8ball was about 10 months when she laid I was convinced that I'd been fobbed off with a boy until I saw that first egg
Daphne
Yes, it is often about 9-10 months with some around 6 months. I'd never thought about it before - its quite late isn't it However, they do lay their little socks off once they start - mine go from January (admittedly a bit sporadic) onwards. They are some of the nicest eggs to eat, so I hope Olive and Doris get the message soon!
