fluffyknickers
At the weekend I removed all the bedding from the WIR and put in new bedding. This was fairly time consuming. I stood in the run and filled up buckets and then emptied hte buckets in the wheelie bin. Im not lazy and it was nice to be outside but would like to make this process quicker and easier. I was thinking about how a garden vacuum would work for the job? Anyone got one and tried it? There are a few around... http://www.amazon.co.uk/tag/garden%20vacuum Thank you Michelle

ali-s
I had the same idea two weekends ago. It was taking me ages to scoop up the hemcore and put into bags, so I decided to use our garden vacuum instead. We have a flymo vacuum and it is quite heavy, it comes with a shoulder strap which was digging into my shoulders before I started. The vacuum did suck up the hemcore to a degree but it was no quicker than me doing it with a spade, the dried up pooey hemcore got stuck in the nozzle and the bag was a pain to empty as bits of hemcore got stuck to the mesh. In the end OH finished the job for me using the spade method while I sat in the garden and drank tea
