Some good news for a change.

Recommended Posts

After all my bad news posted on Omlet (sorry if i go on- !), the breeder we got the silkies, pekins and pilkies from rung my dad up and asked how the girls are, we didnt get Cheryl from that breeder, we got her from a meat raising family. But my dad told her what happened to the turkey and Pages Poultry replied with, our batch of turkeys have just been hatched! So we may be getting one of them*** when we have planned and built the WIR! Sooo excited.

*** Please please please dont think im shallow and have forgotten about Cheryl and focusing on more turkeys, because im not. I wasnt thinking about getting another turkey untill they told us that. Cheryl will never be forgotten, I hope shes ok whereever she is. i will miss her.

We have lots of cats..

we are in the process of making a HUGE wir, about 15 x 15 meters and about 6 foot high with a roof.

on a old land fill sight, digging into the floor to put bricks in it(so nothing can get in, or out) i hope this stops the foxes.

Mollie,

I for one would never think you shallow for getting another Turkey. I know you would never forget Cheryl, unfortunate things happen and we have to move on, this includes replacing pets. These little lives that we take care of can't live forever and when they pass away, for whatever reason (illness, old age etc.) we cannot allow ourselves to linger on it . I always say "move on" and help another one to have a good life ! Humans are the inheritors of responsibility on this planet.

Jenny and Charlie, xx

Thank you,

i re read my post and it sounded like i'd moved on so fast.

i'm just thinking atleast i gave cheryl a few months of peace before she died.

We think she died of shock, there wasnt a mark on her, which is better than her being torn to peices and suffering more.. i hate to think what would of happened to her if we didnt save her from her previous home. we are also thinking about getting some ex batts, and letting them stay in the huge run we're building, since we have the room, and would like to give them a free life, too. but thats when the garden is 100% fox proof, since we dont want to put ex batts into a free garden ot get gobbled up by foxes.

Anyone reccomend what i shall put on the floor of a run, got to be water proof!
