Minnie&Moose
Very excited - tomorrow we head off to the Wernlas collection to pick up our 2 new chickens - a Rhode Island Red and a Black Leghorn. Hopefully they will help fill the gap left by our recent losses, Minnie & Myrtle. The big question is - do we continue with the M theme for names or do we go for a bit more variety ? Right, off to set up the spare .
Roobaloo
I quite like the idea of continuing the with the M's!! Though, go with your gut when you see them!! Don't forget to take lots of pics!!
Gelbel
You may be inspired when you see them. I always have my girls' names in advance - the DH waits til he sees 'his girl' and decides when she makes her first few steps in her new home (ie chez nous). chicken bark
Photo's when you get them please. I think it would feel strange to you if you went for names beginning with a different letter. There must be lots of 'M's to go at yet.
ant3nna
I think you should carry on with the M names. It will sound odd otherwise. Honestly

Minnie&Moose
Thanks for the M names suggestions Mollie333 - there's definitely some there we hadn't thought of! Will let you know what we end up with (though my 10 yr old is threatening to start a Star Wars theme for names ).
Mollie333
Haha, you're welcome. I choose names from soaps.. Eastenders,Corronation Street and Emmerdale. But i think for the ex batts i'm just going to pick some unique names.
Minnie&Moose
Well, they've arrived. No pictures yet - we arrived back rather late and wanted to leave them alone to settle in. So, we now have Mona (Black Leghorn) and Maisie (RIR) camping out on the lawn in our spare . Whilst waiting for us to pick them up both hens laid eggs so we brought home an and an to add to our eggskelter. They look great against the and . Unfortunately Moose is on egg strike and hasn't laid for days
