Eglu Go With 2m Run For Sale

I've been leaving the eglu door open at night. It is a bit colder today and I was wondering whether I should close the door when the chickens go to bed. They have an enclosed run so they are safe from preditors at night.

As long as you are sure they are safe, then it's OK to leave the door open all year round. Chickens don't feel the cold as we do. Mine roost out in their run all year round.

I like closing the door. It feels like I am tucking them up in bed for the night.

I leave mine open and they do perch in the WIR too

I've been leaving mine open too but because my 2 new chooks will go and roost at night but my old girl, Betty, is rather put out having the new girls around so refuses to go into the Eglu! I keep the door open hoping she will go in at some point during the night but at the moment she sleeps in the run. It is secure and is enclosed within a bigger run so I don't think a fox could get in. I prefer closing the door although they do make a lot of noise in the morning when they want to be let out!
