I've spent the best part of an hour trying to fix the roof onto our newly assembled Cube. It isn't easy to explain what the problem is, but I just can't get the clips to fit over the just cant' get the clips screwed into the underside of the roof to fit over the metal plates fixed to each side. Anyone else had that problem and can advise?

I have to say that for £450 I am massively disappointed with the quality of the components...and the instructions. Surely it's possible to provide instructions specific to cubes that don't come with runs? Anyhow, I'll moan about that to Omlet but if anyone has got any roofing tips I'd be very grateful

It can be a bit fiddly with the roof but I found the instructions very clear. My husband tried to rush and miss steps and we got into trouble. When we did it my way and follow each step it was fine.

Which step in the instructions are you having difficulty with?

Got it sorted, eventually. But it was unnecessarily fiddly. For the money I was expecting a much neater build. They should get proper designers on board to eliminate the need for all the catches and runners. But what they could do tomorrow is have bespoke instructions. It's ridiculous sending out instructions from cubes with runs when, in fact, no run is being purchased. Just not good PR. Hopefully the chickens will make up for it!

I think most things you have to put together yourself can be a bit tricky, (ikea flatpacks for example) but I actually think all the eglus (i've built all 3 types now) are pretty simple if you follow the steps - but it does get much easier when you've done one! I think patience is key!

I think the instructions are very good and it's easy to just miss out the bits relating to the runs. I think i'd be more annoyed if i'd bought one without a run and then decided to buy one later and didn't have the instructions!

I put my (cube purple) together in about an hour & a half, with the help of my 4yo son and a manual screwdriver. I found it easy to do, but there was an error in the instructions about putting a side on, which I informed Johannes about at the time. This will have been rectified now as it was nearly 2 years ago.

I have a WIR so didn't need the run instructions either, but they are handy to have should I ever decide to get an Omlet run.
