stehaggan
Ok so I am going to be getting my hens this weekend (6 of them) so I should hopefully start getting lots of nice eggs in the weeks that follow. I am trying to get prepared now, so I have got pencils at the ready and have ordered 2 plastic 30 egg trays off ebay (in case i need to store some). I have designed some funky stickers to go on egg boxes for when i give them out/sell to friends and family so I was just wondering where people buy their egg boxes from and if anyone can recommend some? I am also contemplating an egg skelter for my kitchen and have ordered some egg poachers so im really getting ready for this, i need to order some egg boxes now so any ideas will be appreciated. Many thanks
coco
I get mine of freinds. Most of the online poultry suppliers sell them. We have five chickens but its very rare they all lay on the same day, I find we have enough eggs for us and only give some away occasionally. Aimee
I decided to start off buy buying some of the 4 egg boxes from Omlet when I was placing an order from them anyway (20 for £4.05) and I figured 4 eggs were better to give away than 6 The best price I could find elsewhere for 4 egg boxes was on ebay: £7.20+£3.00 p+p for 40, down to £1.80+£1.65 p+p for 10. Think the seller was called something like riverside cottages. They also do 6 egg boxes at similar prices. Different coloured ones available. Other than that, family and friends have been collecting boxes for me. My egg skelter arrived yesterday - I couldn't resist Like the quality and look of it. Good timing too as we had our first egg today! Hope you sort the boxes soon - if anyone has sourced them cheaper it would be good to know.
