Stuipd question about shower curtains or tarpaulins

Recommended Posts

This flipping rain - it's worse than snow IMHO. The rain is not coming down in a straight line  and is getting in the WIR from all sides and the ground is getting right mucky.

I am going to get a tarp QPD (still no clear shower curtains at IKEA) but I have a concern. Even though it is a monsoon out there, it is still warm. Won't the tarp make the WIR like a greenhouse and make my poor girls suffer/ill?

Any suggestions/ideas? Or am I being daft?

I roll mine up at the back where the run is sheltered against the fence, then if it is really muggy I roll it up a third or so at the front. In really warm weather it just sits on the roof of the cube, which has heat reflected mats, along with omlet shades on it to keep the girls cool. The tarps are great for allowing you to still see your girls and much stronger than shower curtains i got mine from 'tarpaflex'

Thanks for the suggestions - I was in Wilkinsons' on Thursday and picked up a clear garden hammock cover that is just the ticket. With the front bit unzipped, it covers the sides that the rain comes in from (the garage protects one side). I have rigged it up so it's folded on the roof of the integral run/coop and I can pull it up and over the WIR if rain is forcasted. With the open side the girls get fresh air.

That sounds a good idea. Can you post a picture. :D

I've got some corolux panels left over so am going to have a go at putting a battons on it and making panels to hang. I'll let you know how it goes.

The rains not coming in the sides at the moment but there is a lake from coming underneath the panels. Going to try silicone and grout to seal it. Blinking concrete is definately not level.
