scarlettohara
I have followed the flubenvet guide on here and just mixed their feed, they will be starting tonight and confined to their WIR for the next week. Don't be daunted - it was really easy and the instructions were very clear
Chucky Mama
Well done, I think it is pretty straightforward too
scarlettohara
I have noticed that there are more curry poos since they started worming - like everyone who keeps chickens I am a poo conoisseur
Plum
Well we spend so much time picking them up. I've started worming mine and mix it in pellets. I also put small amount in any treats (like warm pellets and veg) I give them so that they have it through the day.
scarlettohara
It is OK to give veg as well - mine are definately stir crazy already. I going to mix some flubenvet into mash today to give them some variety
Plum
I use pellets that have already been treated to make the mash.
Egluntyne
It is OK to give veg as well - mine are definately stir crazy already. I going to mix some flubenvet into mash today to give them some variety Strictly speaking, according to the manufacturers instructions, they should only eat the medicated feed for the 7 days. I guess most of us relent and give them a little something extra occasionally.
Mercedes55
I have followed the flubenvet guide on here and just mixed their feed, they will be starting tonight and confined to their WIR for the next week. Don't be daunted - it was really easy and the instructions were very clear If you don't have a WIR does that mean they have to stay in their Eglu run for the whole week I was going to worm mine this week but having 4 hens I don't think they'd be too happy being kept in their run all the time. We are having a WIR built at the end of the month, maybe we would be better off waiting till they are in there and keep them inside that
scarlettohara
Yes I would wait - I let them out for an hour each day, but they got pretty cross being stuck in the WIR.
Mercedes55
Yes I would wait - I let them out for an hour each day, but they got pretty cross being stuck in the WIR. Mine are only out for an hour or two a day on weekdays at the moment as I'm not out there to keep on eye on them for any longer, which makes me sound a really naughty hen owner. However I have a parrot who is loose in the house and I like to spend a few hours a day with him as he gets lonely on his own. Then there is the dog who wants attention and at times I wonder how everyone else manages to be outside with their hens for so much of the day
