Urgent! help please!

Recommended Posts

i stupidly left a saw on the table and one of my chooks must have caught her nail on it.

Looks like it cut the nail only thank goodness, but below the quick, so blood everywhere.

tried dipping it in cornflour after washing it, but that was about half an hr ago and its not stopped bleeding. Have put her in a box to keep her quiet and have just repeated coating it this time with normal flour which I had to get off a neighbour.

Shes probably been bleeding for an hr, it does seem to have slowed a bit, do I need to panic? Anything else I can try?

I already tried bandaging it up tight, but she got that off....

any advice gratefully received

Thanks everyone... soft soap - thats one I will remember just in case for future!

Yes, it took a long time, but it slowed and then stopped. Not really fully until the next morning tho.

She is still pale around the face and comb and I've been trying to give her extra supplements, it looked like it must have taken a lot out of her, poor thing.

A long shot, but would nail varnish have worked?

Or perhaps a bit of electrician's pvc tape? This one always worked on site for me...

...and yes, I'm being serious...

...I'd be interested to know if there are reasons why these wouldn't work...
