I am thinking of buying a WIR what size wire mesh is the best? There seems to be a choice but I have not idea why or what size is best! Can anyone tell me what they think and why.

19g or 16g wire, weldmesh not chicken wire

 

16g is stronger but harder to cut! 19g will still stop a fox easily

 

1 x 1 inch is probably the best size, that should keep most mice and rats out

 

1 x 0.5 inch will keep all mice out but is more expensive and but I dont tend to use it as its a bit 'busy' and doesnt make the runs look as airy

I have 16g weldmest 1" x1" and found it cut fine with wire clippers, it just springs back at you so wear gloves.
