veggiemad
Hello everyone- I've not been on this part of the forum before so hello!!! We have recently installed a water butt -odd time of year, but we've had a bit of rain today!!, after a day or two i took the lid off only to find at least 12 slugs in there - yuck. Is this a general problem with w.butts or just mine. Me and hubbie have decided they must be getting in from the down pipe as all else is sealed off . any advice appreciated! thanks Edited July 1, 2010 by Guest

Lesley
Hello, welcome to this section....... I've never come across slugs in a water butt Does the lid fit correctly?
veggiemad
hi- thanks for your welcome!! Yes - as far as I know the lid is on proper- its abit fiddly actually , so it suddenly goes- bump- whens its on properly. We have a flat roof leading to the downpipe so may attempt some slug pellets up there. Hubbie has a weird horror thought that we have a zillion slugs living in the flat roof and soon it will fall in and cover us in gunge!!!!
