I'd put them out straight away (tomorrow not tonight!) - I hatch in an eglu and they normally bring the babies outside after a day or so. They then scuttle back under mum if they get cold etc.

Regarding breaks etc, I'd leave her to it now. I put some food/water nearby from the last couple of days of hatching and she can then help herself.

Ditto to Karlotta, I let mum take the lead...she'll know when is best for her babies...as long as the run is dry, shady and not draughty they will stay out all day, running to mum for cuddles as they need them :D

I leave a bowl of food and a bowl of water with marbles in in the house overnight too, so they can feed if they need to before I get up to let them out..sorry, I don't get up at dawn for any of my chooks nor chicks....the big girls doors are left open so they can get up into their fox proof runs when they are ready, but any houses with a mum and babes in has the door shut at dusk & opened at 7ish, or whenever I get up

Good luck with the babies & Effy (hatch)(hatch)(hatch)(hatch)
