Any Chicken keepers in Warwickshire

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone near me are keeping Chooks, between Rugby & Leamington Spa? This is my 2nd proper day of having my chooks, and they are delightful, had my 1st egg laid yesterday, was very eggciting! :) Have just put up a parasol for the chooks & they are quite happy in the shade, they have even had a dust bath each in a homemade dust bath out of one of those rubber dump bins (just so happens i had a purple one to match my eglu) I will be letting them out probably on saturday to have a roam round the garden for the 1st time :anxious: Am waiting till they are out of their run so i can get some good photos of them.

Hi Sherbet - welcome to the forum! :D

My dad lives in Southam and we are not far from Rugby.

We got our first hens nearly two years ago but I've only joined Omlet recently after a long time of reading posts full of useful hints and tips.

Be warned - chicken keeping is very addictive!!

Hi Jane

Southam is great, &I know what you mean, it is only day 3 and i am obsessed with them, am on holiday from work this week, and am not looking forward to Monday because i will have to leave them all day! :(

This Forum is excellent, if you read some of the funny things chicken people say it really makes you happy.

If there is anyone out there who needs cheering up/a reason to get up early in the morning, get some chucks!

Not in Warwickshire but on the border, in Tamworth, and our wildlife site is in Warwickshire but only a mile away from us.

Chicken-keeping is very addictive - my three will be added to soon. And after 9 months I'm getting a WIR on 22nd July with the builder doing the slab base next week. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your lovely girls!

Thanks for all your replys, nice to know there are lots of chicken lovers near me. I have been letting Molly & Macy out for a couple of hours each night and they love it! Have only had 2 eggs since Tuesday - but hopefully they will soon get going soon. I will try & get some photos on here soon. Thanks again every one, i think this forum is great, i have been looking at info on "Poos" this morning, trying to find out what is normal & what isn't. It is scary when you are new to chicken keeping.

Kind regards

Lynne :D
