Crazy chicken people?

Recommended Posts

Love it! Absolutely love it!

My neighbours veggie patch is directly next to the chicken house on the other side of the fence, and I can hear her giggle away when I'm talking to the girls. I bet she has a (quiet) word with the leeks and carrots... Chickens are definately multi-lingual anyway - mine gets English, Afrikaans and Chicken and they understand every word :D

My girls talk back to me as well, especially first thing in the morning.

We have a regular visitor to the garden in the shape of a big fat Pigeon, which I have nicknamed "Frank".

So, whenever I let the girls out we have a discussion about Frank. He waddles around as though he should have a raincoat on, and be selling watches from the inside of his mac, like a birdy version of Del Boy saying "hello ladies...can I interest you in anything.."

Me and the ladies have a chat about Frank and I tell them not to buy anything from him, as it is probably knock off and you know he is a "con-pigeon". I tell them that they won't get their money back!

They have been know to chase him out of the garden, so I think they are listening to me......

Oops, I've said too much.... I'll get me coat!!!:whistle::whistle:

This is just too uncanny, theres a fat pigeon who visits MY garden a lot too. He usually visits to eat any spilt chicken food

I have one too - he waddles up and down the garden. I think Dave the cat leaves him alone as he knows the pigeon is just too big to handle :D

My pigeon is so fat he can hardly fly :lol: He'd be easy food for my neihbourhood cats

Dave did catch a pigeon when he was younger. Dave's only small anyway, poor skinny little thing so how he caught Frankie (my YS named the rescued pigeon  ) I don't know but we saved him. We let him go the next morning whereupon he promptly flew into my kitchen window and stunned himself. After another stay in my shed we released him to what I cross my fingers and hope was a longer life :D

I don't think its the same pigeon that struts his stuff up and down my garden now though.

I ask mine how their day has been too! ....I ask if they've been busy, they usually have, scratching and digging, bit of eating...soup just says 'what what what'...yeah my neighbours think Im mad, I always shout out hi ladies when Im walking down the garden, and shout they're names out when they've been naughty (getting in the veg!), they never pay any attention!

My next door but one neighbour also has chickens...he talks to his girls too!
