CallyChook
Hi, I have four three week old polish chicks and another 2 which are 2 days old. They're going to be staying indoors for at least another month yet, but will then live in the garden. I'm just having the fencing finished (I love that, it sounds like I can afford to have it professionally done, but actually it's my husband and dad doing it ) and was wondering how high to make it? How well can they fly, very high or just a flutter? I can easily clip a wing but would like to know first hand what they're capable of, both full size and bantam. thanks! Griffin
Mine rarely leave the ground, they chose not to purely because they can't see very well. I have a run that is 3ft high and they struggle to jump up to perch on the roof of that. They certainly couldn't manage higher.
Cinnamon
Likewise, mine tend to stay on the floor,as they can't see very well.
CallyChook
fab, my brushwood screening stuff that goes round the chicken wire on the outside is 1.5m tall so should be sufficient magic. my dad'll be pleased!!!
