Has anyone made a Cube run into a walk-in-run?

Has anyone made a cube run into a WIR?

I'm thinking of getting a cube run for when we move house but wondered if it's possible to raise the Cube and run up onto sleepers to give added headroom...

What do you think - practical or daft?

Someone in a nearby Countrywide was buying up Mite stuff today and saying they've had to burn and build new coops this weekend - seems that there's a big infestation (fingers crossed we seem OK but have deloused the girls anyway today). Just wondered if the wood of my WIR would harbour it... guess no more than sleepers?

Daft idea? I think so but what the heck... CLICK SUBMIT!

Yep, I'd raise the cube too... like on a mezzanine.

Or do you think it's rediculous and impractical? Just wondering how many sleepers I'd need!

The more I think about it, the dafter it's getting but I quite like the idea of split level run for the girlies :)

Still itching...

Sounds like a very creative idea to me. :)

Red mite lurk in dark nooks and crannies, regardless of the material. Obviously the larger the area of "material", the more room there is for them to set up home. Sleepers sound like a good solid base solution, but you would have to stack them to get the height you want, which would provide plenty of red mite opportunities. Maybe you could seal between them? Actually, knowing that sleepers ain't cheap, you might find that bricks and mortar cost less??
