Valkyrie
They are all gorgeous, but the Sussex is really beautiful - such clean white feathers! Ours were kind of forced onto each other - the snow made sure of that, so in the dark I put the bantams in with the big girls while they were all sleepy so they had extra body warmth together. I did need a little anti peck and I separated them during the day for a little bit longer. Eventually they were allowed to mix properly once the snow had melted - the banteenies then zipped off in their own directions and the big girls were too slow to catch them. It didn't take too long and all are fine now, until one goes broody and they all dislike the broody ones. Mind you seeing a pekin square up to an orpie was funny - pekin won! Although the orpie is and always has been the queen bee of them all.
Boybeck
Could we have moved a step forward this morning?! I might separate the bully for a litle while and put Sally in the main run with the other existing hen.

Boybeck
I lowered Sally into the Eglu tonight after dark thinking the other chook was asleep but she still managed to give Sally a nasty peck. Do you think I should buy anti-pecking spray?
Mollie333
Chooks can be so evil, she is beautiful though, a real stunner, i can't wait untill my chicks grow big. We have 4 three week olds, if anyone needs a cockerel It might be worth getting anti pecking spray if they are continuing pecking for a while, but slight pecks are just getting used to the pecking order!I LOVE her web sight picture, and i think you should defiantly sent it to Omlet!
