bennett
We are on holiday in devon and with the recommendation from other omleteers we visited The devonshire breed centre today as the weather is rubbish And have ended up coming back to the cottage this afternoon with a pure white poland (she is beautiful) and my daughter has given her the name Devon , very orignal for a 5 yr old Also polands are like gold dust at home so am very happy we have her. We also have bought a millefleur (think thats how you spell it) , she has been named martha! We are so lucky that the cottage has a coop and WIR so that people can bring thier chooks on hoilday with them. So they are now safetly tucked up in the coop ready for our journey home on saturday. Most people bring home ornaments from holidays but not me, i bring chooks!

chelsea
Glad you managed to get to the DTBC, I got most of my girls from there. And I can say hand on heart that they are stunning birds, never ill *touch wood* and really healthy. Don't know where you are in Devon but it's lovely here - sunshine & blue sky, albeit a tad breezy! Bramble
Wow, that's incredible, a holiday cottage that provides facilities to bring your own chickens! I have enough problems trying to find somewhere that will let me take my dog!! Glad you got some new chucks though, love the name Devon! migsy
How wonderful! A dangerous place to go! Could you pm me the details please or put them on the thread? Thanks.
bennett
Unfortunatly the cottage is part of the Holiday property bond, kind of like a time share, very difficult to explain , you have to invest, but i have to say they are brilliant. We have been coming to sidmouth for years. You can bring up to 2 dogs per cottage, they have a coop for chooks and also rabbit hutches incase you want to bring you bunny. the website is www.hpb.co.uk. The devonshire traditional breed centre is in crediton just past exeter, there set up is amazing and a small holders dream. Would recommend to get birds from there. Will start another thread though will info for all others to see xxxxxx Cant wait to get my new girls home to thier cube with the others!
