DD was out last night and lost her car keys. Of course she's no sparekey or immobiliser and the nightclub where she is 99% sure where she's lost them isn't open today so she can't ring until 9.00am tomorrow.

Two things have really irritated me though. FiL's attitude, you think she'd done it deliberately and the police who when she phoned them said "No keys have been handed in, sorry, bye" and put the phone down on her  I would have thought they'd have least taken details. Assume they just expect her to waste their time and ring everyday!

Feel better for the moan-lol

Hope she got into the car in the end.

It's a pity about the police :(

Brought back some memories though. When I was in my early twenties I almost ran out of petrol very late one night parked at the filling station that I was relying on which was closed. No road rescue membership so called the police. They were wonderful. Told me I was parked in a particularly nasty part of town and to lock myself in the car and wait for them. The guys in the patrol car brought a can with them but couldn't get it into my tank as the filler was too recessed. So they took me back to the station where I had cups of tea and played pool with them till the filling station opened at six the next morning. Then they gave me a lift back.

I've always had a thing for men in uniform since then :oops::oops:

This was Sweeny days so I sent them a couple of bottles of scotch as a thank you.

Oh your poor DD, I feel for her. I hope she manages to find the keys.

Must admit DD had her brand new mobile either lost or stolen last week, the local station to where it happened were next to useless but our local one (manned by volunteers) have been brilliant and really helpfull. The nightclub were she thinks it went missing didn't want to know. Most of my DD's aunts and uncles were of the opinion that it would teach her to be more careful with her phone. Just what you want to hear when you're upset - not.

Thanks everyone for reading. She's managed to speak to someone at the nightclub but is waiting to hear back. They've promised by end of day. I've left a message for the police but not had a call back.

Further rant ahead now. FiL has given her a lift to work this morning as I'm at work (so can't) plus the one train from here and choice of two buses don't get her to her work on time. I had her on the phone in tears as he told her she had disappointed them making stupid mistakes and also gone on about her being over weight :twisted: I was and still am raging. They live 5 minutes away and could call round to see the DD's whenever they want yet they choose to make sly digs about not seeing them. My Dad with terminal cancer who lives 20 minutes drive away thinks nothing of calling round or phoning them up.

Keys haven't been found at the nightclub or takeaway. None handed in at police station either :(

In desperation I drove into Blackpool last night to speak to someone at the police station and fill in a report.

Got given a number to ring today and would you believe that it's unrecognised :wall::wall::wall:

Upshot is that someone is coming to her car to sort a key out tomorrow at a cost of around £60 then the garage we've used for over 30 years will come out and disable  the immobiliser.

FiL has offered to run her to work tomorrow but her response was unrepeatable on here :silenced:

That's so annoying that the keys haven't been found. It all just makes things harder doesn't it.

I have to say that the London police have now stepped up with my DD's problem because of the girl demanding a reward (theft by finding apparently  ) and something else. We'll see what happens.
