Luvachicken
Oooo, I only found this "All Things Nice" page because I was looking at reviews for the tefal jam maker and spotted a few names I recognised. I do have a bread machine already and it has a jam button on it which I made Blackberry and Blackcurrant jam in yesterday. But am I being extravagant / greedy thinking I need a jam maker ? The jam turned out fine and is a lovely colour but the machine does make quite a lot of noise. Should I save my money and just buy some pretty jars and lids instead ? Does anyone know if you can make chutneys in the bread machine ? My instructions only show for strawberry or plum jam. I was really pleased with my one jar I made I just hope it tastes as good as it looks.
Chickendoodle
Why don't you get a preserving pan instead - making jam and chutney the old fashioned way is easy and fun! Warning though it is very addictive. I have a cupboard full of home made jams and chutneys.

Luvachicken
My mum used to make jam the old fashioned way and it looked so tedious, all that stirring, scooping off scum etc. I'm a bit of a lazy wotsit sometimes and the idea of chucking it all in the bread machine and pouring it into jars at the end is my kind of thing. Actually, it's not that I'm lazy - just I like doing other things while the bread macine is busy. Sorry, I've only just read replies but I've been loking after our dog who's a bit poorly at mo. Any other tips on jam making would be nice - does any one know if the jam maker makes more jam ...the bread machine only seems to make one medium jar it says ?
