Aimee
I've seen an eglu classic on ebay that I really fancy and am quite tempted to go for it. I have a cube and 5 chickens at the moment and am struggling to justify it but it's so close by and I'd be able to sneak it home as my husband is away Can anyone help me come up with reasons why I might need another one? Mercedes55
You might need it if you get some new hens and want to introduce them slowly by keeping them in the Eglu. Could also come in useful if you have a sick hen that needs to be kept separate. Hopefully you could just buy it and your husband wouldn't notice
stehaggan
I'm the same.. i have a cube with 6 hens but really wanted a red classic too... so i justified it... if one ever got ill/broody or was egg eating.... also they can have a choice of accomodation like a holiday home or for when i extend me flock... hehe.. just get it
Olly
Introducing new hens, quarantining sick hens, broody hens, lending out (you could recoup the cost - not!), taking on holiday ... come on, who needs a reason!
karlotta
Or you could start a bantam flock!
Aimee
Aha, sounds like enough reasons for me..... I'll keep my fingers crossed that the price doesn't become silly. Am kicking myself over missing one last week that sold for a low price - under £200 with an extended run. I forgot the finishing time As for the hubby, it's not that he'll have a problem with coming home an finding an extra eglu, it's just that he'll be all sensible and talk me out of it if I wait til he returns
scarlettohara
Or you could start a bantam flock! That's how I justify keeping my after getting a and now I need a WIR for the bantams Go on you know you want to
moomperu
I'm with all the previous posts re: bantams. I don't think you need much justification for getting an Eglu and filling it with lots of lovely bantams. However, an argument I have used (successfully) is that Eglus hold their value exceptionally well (much better than many other products). As the big government cuts come into play, this time next year, 2nd hand Eglus will be going for LOADS of money - so actually, getting an Eglu from Ebay now is a prudent investment. You don't need to mention that you have no intention of selling... in 5 (as yet, un-named Bantams) in
Purplemaniacs
Or you could start a bantam flock! I like that idea but agree with all the others. OH thought I would bet rid of the when we got the hehe Being used for intros at the moment. If it goes for a good price and is close to you, you would be silly not to buy it Chrissie
