Heston & Delia for Waitrose

Recommended Posts

I look forward to the new Waitrose magazine coming out each weekend,as there is always a nice new recipe by Heston or Delia to try 8)

I have discovered some great new things to cook via this promotion, but tonights has been a total disaster

I have been making the Banana Eton Mess from last weekends promotion,& have just tipped the lot down the sink as it was vile.

Luckily I tried the mixture of lime juice spiked whipped double cream & pureed bananas, caramelised sugar & rum before I added the praline & hazelnit bits & made earlier & the meringue nests I had ready,as they would have been wasted to

Hey ho - this weeks roast veggie couscous looks nice

Oh dear! Generally I love those recipes, but I am a bit funny about bananas in puddings, they're ok eaten as a fruit but I read the words 'banana Eton Mess' last time I was in Waitrose, and thought 'not for me'. Good job you didn't add the other bits ... sounds quite a complicated recipe!

I don't know if anyone else tried this weeks Pea & Pancetta Spaghetti, but it is totally to die for & as simple as anything.

uses lots of egg yolks too (the recipe for 6 people uses 6,but I made a half load, which easily fed 4,although I did use a little more Spaghetti)

I am cooking this weeks Delia tonight - a Thai chicken curry.

It looks really easy & flavoursome too,so I shall report back 8)

It was totally delicious - highly recommended to all :P

I second that. Really nice. OH added a couple of extra chillis  but it was still delish!

Cinnamon I made it and it was scrummy wasn't it? And easy! But we 'thirded' the quantities.

What I've found about Heston, bless him, is that some of his recipes work out really expensive. The Banana Eton Mess worked out at something mad!

I made one of Delia's a few weeks ago, the seafood risotto. It was awful, but usually her recipes are great.

Is that the seafood rissotto with the fish soup as a base. If so we made it and it was vile, OH quite liked it but the rest us thought it was :vom: and we will eat pretty much anything normally. It put us off trying the more recent recipes. The first one I did with sausages and cider was yummy though.
