I use ut as the chickens in my field have water from water butts as there is no mains supply

I fill a dustbin with water and add probably no more than 50mls of fluid so a couple of drops per drinker sounds about right

My rule of thumb is that I should be able to smell that clean smell but not so strong it smells of Milton (does that make any sense??)

This is a really interesting topic....

I've had my eye on one of these for a while but have no idea how i'd clean algae etc out of it - would a few drops of milton stop this developing/get rid of it?

I've got 2 of those and they are what I use the milton in. Also a handful of gravel and a little water shaken around dislodges some of the green stuuf. It's a pain getting all the gravel out again though.
