How do you know the number of someone who called you? I got a prank call last night and I want to know who it was, they put the bit before their number though so it says that it's an unknown number. I went to 'Call Memory' > 'Answered Calls' then selected that call, but on details it just said 'Unknown Number' and it won't tell me what the number acctually was. I don't have the option to call back either.

 

The call went a bit like this:

 

Me: Hello?

PC: Hello. This is 95.8 Capital FM you've won a car!

Me: (Deciding to go along with it) A car!? Really!? Wow!

PC: You need to pick a number between 1 and 5

Me: ( Hands phone to brother because I can't be asked with this.)

Brother: 3!

Me: (Takes phone back)

PC: Hello? Yeah you've won a spaceship!Me: A spaceship? Well that's even better than a car!

PC: Yes and you get a free alien with it.

Me: A free alien!? Wow!

PC: You have a donkey nose

Me: A donkey nose!? I worked hard to get my donkey nose, I had a lot of plastic surgery.

PC: So, I hear you have a chicken in your garden?

Me: Two chickens, Yes.

PC: Where do you keep them?

Me: I keep them in the garden but I was thinking that I might move them into my new spaceship.

PC: I'm going to eat them.

Me: Oh really?

PC: Yes, I'm going to have a barbeque.

Me: A barbeque? Not really the weather for one. It's raining outside here.

PC: I'm a serial killer]

Me: You like cornflakes then? (Badoom, Tshhh I know)

PC: What?

Me: You said you were a cereal killer?

PC:You know I'm joking, right?

Me: Well nawwwwww

Me: .......

PC: Hello?

PC: Hello?

PC: Are you still there?

Me: Yes, I'm still here. I'm listening.

PC: What?

Me: Shhh listen!

PC: What? What is it?

Me: It's the sound of your credit being wasted, we're up to 7 minutes now, Bye

 

So anyway, if you could tell me how to get the number then it would be much appreciated

Don't know how you can get the number yourself...but it might be worth reporting it to your service provider as a nuisance call. They will (I expect) be able to trace it.

Tbh I don't think it was intended to be annoying, not many people know that I keep chickens so it must of been one of my closest friends. I have a pretty good idea of who it was but I wanted to be sure before I get back at them

Brilliant. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. I found out who the mystery caller was; the hacker who hacked my msn a while ago. How they managed to get hold of my number I don't know, but I don't hink this is the last I've heard of this moron

If you note dates and times of calls your telephone provider can pass this on to the authorities for you if you want to of course. There should be a specialist police officer in every county who deals with the 'Misuse of Telecommunication' such as internet, texts and calls. They are even taking cyber bullying very seriously now.... which is a good thing.

 

I hope they don't bother you again though... failing that keep a whistle next to the phone and if they call again give them an earful!!
