My Lavender Pekin Chicks have started going blonde they hatched totally Lavender. Whats that all about?

I was searching google images, and they're looking like the Lavender Splash Pekin pics never heard of that before

Maybe just see how they grow - could be going lighter and will get darker feathers through after.

Lewsi is right, a chick's colur can vary a lot as it develops and each new set of feathers comes through. Lavender is supposed to be a notoriusly difficult colour to get right though and you often get variations on the theme. I have a lavender pekin, which has a sort of barred effect to her feathers in certain lights - subtle and very pretty.

I've bred about 90 Lavender Pekins this year - very few have actually ended up lavender

I never knew that about Lavenders being a difficult colour, you learn something new everyday I have a pure Lavender female at the mo, shes lovely. Hoping to breed her when shes of age, really like the colour. Ive also been told a few times, that Lavender is proving difficult to get hold of currently...
