This may sound silly to all the experts. I have had my girls for nearly 2 weeks. Rhoda was 24 weeks when I bought them home and started laying the next day, the other 3 were 18 weeks now nearly 20 weeks. When will they start to lay? If they do start to lay will they all stop for winter?

I would be surprised if you didn't get some eggs in the next couple of months. Hybrids come into lay more quickly than pure breeds ...so egg cup at the ready I think. Egg production does drop off over the winter but won't necessarily stop.

We got our girls at a similar time of year a couple of years ago and remember getting conflicting advise from local people. Loads said that we wouldn't get anything until the spring but we go eggs from them when they were about 26 weeks old and all over the winter.

I reckon you'll get some eggs in the next few weeks
